What I find most curious about myself is that I will love all the “darkness” of another but believe that someone isn’t capable of loving me the same way. I reflect on this often. Thank you for this piece Mark.
I think that's often due to our desire to demonstrate the behaviour we seek from others. Often it's exaggerated and misses red flags and tolerates too much because, ultimately, it's not 100% genuine. It's trying to source/teach something. Practice it with yourself first. Look at all the ways you love another's darkness and truly embody that with you. You have the skills, you just need to adjust the direction of the skills. Much love!
“Become the place of Welcome.” Love this. Really working on this through meditation; laying down co-dependency... over & over of course. It humbles me as I now see it as a bit of arrogance to think it’s my job to manage everyone else’s life, feelings, problems & so on.😂
