It feels bittersweet to my heart as IG is how I found your work, and your work had such a deep impact on my life. I always credit it as part of what sparked the courage I needed to leave Medicine and France, and move to live my artistic dream in New York (as I got to tell you last year in a beautiful full-circle moment at 92NY)

Mark, it's so wild, but the day I saw your post about this on IG I had been having very similar thoughts, deeply. The reckoning of, "Does the net gain of being on IG outweigh the net loss (of attention, mental real estate, etc). I commented on a comment made by another woman on your post simply agreeing with her sentiments. Within moments -- literally -- my IG account got suspended. There was no ability to recover it (none of the usual stuff worked, I was fully blocked). I laughed out loud. And, I took it as such a cosmic wink, a nudge to follow my own convictions and live without it, even though as a writer and also in launching some new offerings it is a non-rational choice. (Weird, right?) That immediate suspension should tell everyone what they need to know...... should make us question relying on that platform for anything..... and also has been so lovely for my psyche! Celebrating you, and our joint experience!

Makes me want to read your book (just learned of it) and I support your decisions 100% and admire your commitment & eloquence in decision-making… the pain collecting phases of life, just before it pushes us to action… deeply powerful times. I did the same thing. No Instagram page. And on facebook I am not active. Only active to be a part of community who supports.
I am at peace since the time I have deleted Instagram.
